Meet Leah – the latest addition to the CliniKids team. We asked Leah, our new Operations Manager, a couple of questions to get to know her.
Country of origin? Ireland
How long have you lived in Australia? I moved to Australia in 2011, so 10 years now.
Your background? Before joining CliniKids I worked with another not-for-profit that provided support programs and services to Aboriginal people. Joining the team in 2012, I worked in several areas of the business, eventually leading their operations and corporate services from 2016. I got to learn from some very influential people, travel to some of Australia’s most remote communities and some of the most beautiful places in the country.
What are you enjoying most about working at CliniKids? I’m really enjoying working for a service that is dedicated solely to outcomes for children. The research into practice model at the clinic means that we have a ringside seat into cutting-edge interventions for children experiencing developmental delays, and it is a real privilege to be a part of these interventions which have such a huge impact on a young person’s life. Also seeing their beautiful, smiley faces in the clinic every day really makes your day brighter and more enjoyable. I feel very blessed to be a part of CliniKids!
Some fun facts about you. I certainly don’t consider this a ‘hidden talent’ but perhaps in an Australian context I might be able to get away with Irish dancing. I also enjoying cooking, listening to true crime podcasts, a good fine wine, keeping active and spending time with my beautiful 9-month-old baby girl, Isabelle. She is such a funny little character and inspired and motivated me to work with children!
