She is trained in PACT (Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy); CUES (Coping with Uncertainty in Everyday Situations) program; and Hanen. She has specific knowledge in sensory processing and complex feeding challenges, as well as in the use of Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), including specific knowledge of LAMP.
Lara is inspired by applying research into practice and implementing the most current, evidence-based interventions. She is passionate about life-long learning, continually improving her knowledge and skills to better support her clients and is a clinical supervisor at CliniKids.
Lara takes a sensitive and caring approach to her work and values building relationships of trust and understanding. She finds great joy in empowering families to recognise their strengths, become strong advocates for their child, and face challenges armed with new knowledge and skills. She loves helping families discover how they can facilitate their child’s participation and independence in daily activities.
