Mental health seminar

CliniKids recently held the second seminar in its online Autism Seminar Series — Supporting mental health and wellbeing in autistic children and young people.

CliniKids recently held the second seminar in its online Autism Seminar Series — Supporting mental health and wellbeing in autistic children and young people.

Presented by autism researcher Dr Gail Alvares and Clinical Psychologist Dr Mei’en Lim, the presentation discussed current research and research study opportunities in mental health and wellbeing.

Research studies open for recruitment

  • CUES Junior trial: CliniKids researchers are seeking families to take part in an online group program for primary caregivers of children with autism who have difficulty with anxiety around uncertainty.  Primary caregivers of young children diagnosed with autism, aged 4-7 years, with anxiety concerns around the unknown are invited to take part, living anywhere in Australia.
  • Self-compassion workshop: This research study is exploring whether or not a self-compassion workshop can improve the wellbeing of both parents of autistic children and their children.

Sibling Support clinical program

  • Sibling Support: At CliniKids, we offer individual (Sib Support) and group (CliniSibs) programs designed to support siblings of autistic children. The programs focus on supporting the sibling to understand autism better, as well as learn strategies to enhance their own wellbeing and resilience. Sib Support is facilitated by experienced psychologists.
