There is lots of news to report from the clinic including holiday shutdown dates, appointment scheduling, staff updates, changes to creche, and service availability.
Clinic shutdown dates
Both the Subiaco and Joondalup clinics will shut down for the Christmas and New Year period from Friday, December 22, (open for phone calls only) through to Friday, January 5, inclusive. The clinics will re-open on Monday, January 8, 2024. For all other December and January dates, the clinic will be open and operating as normal.
If you have an appointment that needs to be rescheduled because you will be away, please phone us before the clinic shutdown on (08) 6319 1133 or email clinikids.reception@telethonkids.org.au
The usual cancellation notice requirements will be applied if families do not attend their scheduled appointments. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to avoid fees.
Term 1 appointment scheduling
The schedules for CliniKids Term 1 will be sent to families in the final two weeks of January.
We are aware that many of our clients are either starting kindy or are transitioning from kindy to fulltime school and may require a different day/time for their regular therapy sessions at CliniKids.
We want to facilitate as many changes as possible to minimise any time away from school. For this reason, if you currently know your child’s kindy days for 2024 or are aware that your session day will require a change, we ask that you please contact us with this information as soon as possible. If you don’t yet have this information, then please pass it on as soon as it becomes available.

Staff updates
We are saying so long for now, and good luck, to our much-loved Client Support Officer, Amy Eaton as she goes off on parental leave. We wish Amy well while we welcome Vera Beese who has joined us and will cover Amy’s role while she is away. Vera will work at both the Subiaco and Joondalup clinics.
We also recently welcomed Speech Pathologist Gracen Murphy to the clinical team, who will divide her time between both our clinics. We will welcome another Speech Pathologist to our team in January. Genevieve Wilmot will be working from our Subiaco office.
Creche
From Term 1 2024, our creche availability in Subiaco will change to Wednesday and Thursdays only. We are not able to sustain fulltime creche services and are hoping that condensing this time will mean we can hold onto at least some creche facilities for our clients. Our lovely CSOs will work with you if this impacts your appointments.
Service availability
We currently have some availability in clinical psychology and occupational therapy services at both our Subiaco and Joondalup clinics.
